Jack Rackham, or John Rackham, (commonly known as Calico Jack; died November 17, 1720) was a pirate captain during the 18th century. His nickname derived from the colourful calico clothes he wore. He is also remembered for numbering the two most notorious female pirates of the time in his crew, Anne Bonny and Mary Read. The design of Rackham's Jolly Roger flag was seen in the 1995 film Cutthroat Island and the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
