The State Flag of Missouri (Show Me State)
The 24th state, admitted in 1821. In 1904, Richard Blechyden served tea with ice in it and invented iced tea....That fact alone makes Missouri a great state! Home of 7-Up, Anheuser-Busch... hum... must like to drink there! Also home to Aunt Jemima, George Washington Carver and Captain Berry (first to make a successful jump from a moving airplane).
The flag of Missouri consists of the state seal centered on horizontal red, white, and blue stripes. The colors of the flag reflect the state's historic status as part of the French Louisiana Territory. The seal is surrounded by 24 stars, symbolic of Missouri as the 24th state to join the union.
Our version of this flag is made of light-weight polyester for durability. It is a large 3 foot by 5 foot flag, and has a reinforced hoist side, with 2 metal grommets. |
