The State Flag of Arizona (The Grand Canyon State)

Arizona entered the Union on Feb. 14, 1912, as the 48th state. Once primarily a mining and agricultural area, the state developed a diversified economy after 1950 and in the 1990s was an important producer of high-technology items, notably in the Phoenix region. Arizona also enjoys successful copper-mining, cotton-growing, and tourist industries. The name of the state is derived from an Indian word (arizonac) believed to mean ìplace of the small spring.î I'm thinking it really means "land of snow birds!"

The flag of Arizona has of 13 rays of red and gold (the conquistador colors) on the top half, representing the original 13 colonies, as well as portraying Arizona's legendary sunsets. There is a copper colored star in the center signifying Arizona's copper-mining industry. The lower half is the same color blue as in the flag of the United States.

Our version of this flag is made of light-weight polyester for durability and is 3' by 5'.
